Famous watchmaker TAG Heuer introduces smart watches that support NFT The Ecoinomic

Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer has partnered with the well-known irreplaceable token (NFT) community around Bored Ape Yacht Club and CLONE-X to create an NFT display smartwatch that securely connects to cryptocurrency wallets such as MetaMask and Ledger Live.

The company says the functionality of the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 is simple, with the NFT being transferred to it via a paired smartphone. Some NFT are still and dynamic images. TAG Heuer's watch face will support the ability to transfer multiple NFT's at once to their watch. Users can also choose which NFT they want to display on their watch, and the image is resized to fit the screen.

In a blog post from manufacturer TAG Heuer:

"Some NFT is still images and some are animated GIFs. TAG Heuer's watch face will support these formats with clear detail, with infinitely repeatable animations. This smartwatch will also be capable of connecting to the blockchain and verifying the NFT owned by the wearer. TAG Heuer describes the feature in their announcement that, "Verified NFTs are displayed in a hexagonal shape with an attractive particle cloud around the image."

This new NFT function is set to be available as a free update to all Tag Heuer Calibre E4 owners through the App Store and Google Play.

TAG Heuer continues to grow in the Web3 space using a team of in-house developers for blockchain-related projects. Back in May, TAG Heuer partnered with BitPay to start accepting payments in Bitcoin (BTC) and 11 other cryptocurrencies including some stablecoins paid in U.S. dollars. NFT watches are not an entirely new idea as Bulgari, Jacob & Co and others enter the market in recent months.

NFTs explode in the media in 2021 with personal sales reaching tens of millions. Despite the recent overall market situation and rising NFT prices, reported sales remained stable.
