Bentley believes NFT can help transform the luxury automotive space just as they have disrupted the arts industry.
British luxury carmaker Bentley Motors Limited is embedding its foot in the Web3 ecosystem with the launch of its irreplaceable token collection (NFT) on its Ethereum Polygon expansion platform, the company announced today.
According to the announcement, the disposable NFT collection will be reduced by September 2022 and will only have 208 units.The NFT number is symbolic in that it represents the highest speed of Bentley's fastest Grand Tourer – the Continental GT Speed.The 208 also represents the total number of R-Type Continentals of 1952.

Bentley Design will be in charge of creating the NFT collection.Collectors who buy NFT will receive unique access and rewards from Bentley.The automaker did not disclose the NFT's price tag.
However, Bentley promises to direct the proceeds of the sale into supporting students interested in engineering, design and manufacturing.In addition, the company plans to use the funds to support organizations that promote sustainability, especially in the transportation industry.
The carmaker chose to ditch its NFT collection on Polygon because the network is carbon neutral.According to the announcement, Bentley NFTs will be environmentally friendly, helping the construction company build its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality from start to finish by 2030.
NFT continues to attract among car manufacturers
Through today's announcement, Bentley has become the second automotive company to enter the NFT market.Hyundai first partnered with NFT's Meta Kongz project in April. The partnership is part of Hyundai's Metamobility, the company's concept of metaverse.
